Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel greeted residents on Wednesday as Vikram Samvat 2082 began, marking the Hindu New Year across the Indian subcontinent. He expressed hopes for growth and urged citizens to support locally made products as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's self-reliance campaign. The chief minister visited Governor Acharya Devvratji at his residence to offer seasonal wishes.
Patel prayed at Bhadrakali Mata Temple near Lal Darwaja in Ahmedabad for the welfare of state residents. He met prominent citizens and officials at Annexe Circuit House in Shahibaug, where State President Jagdish Vishwakarma, Urban Development Minister Darshna Vaghela, Member of Parliament Dinesh Makwana and Ahmedabad Mayor Pratibha Jain attended. The chief minister also greeted senior police officers and their families at the Police Officers' Mess in Shahibaug Dafnala.
