Escape From Duckov sells 1 million copies in five days

Escape From Duckov sold more than 1 million copies within five days of release, developer Team Soda and publisher Bilibili Game announced. The duck-themed shooter launched on Steam, Epic Games Store and Mac App Store on Wednesday, Oct. 16, nearly one month before Escape From Tarkov arrives on Steam on Saturday, Nov. 15. Producer Jeff Chen credited the milestone to player support and community engagement from early demo promotion through launch week.

The parody game ranks among Steam's most-played titles and trending releases, according to SteamDB data. Both games target different player bases despite surface similarities, with Duckov offering lighter gameplay compared to Tarkov's hardcore survival mechanics. Concurrent player comparisons will become possible after Tarkov's Steam debut, though many existing players may continue using non-Steam launchers. Team Soda expressed gratitude to fans who supported development from initial demonstrations through the commercial release window.
