The update introduces an Expedition set in an abandoned universe where players investigate a mysterious wreck at the edge of space. The mode features purple-star solar systems with deep oceans and volatile gas giants. The developer timed the Expedition's spooky narrative for Halloween next week, expanding ship-building features in response to player engagement with design workshops.
